Youth hoops league has openings
Basketball players in grades one-six have one more chance to register and get evaluated for the upcoming Sequim Youth Basketball season.
The basketball program hosts a session from 7-8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 10, at the Sequim Middle School gym, 301 W. Hendrickson Road.
Games are each Saturday morning starting at 9 a.m. on Jan. 10. The season usually wraps up by the end of February.

SkyRidge hosts
Pre-Christmas tourney
SkyRidge Golf Course, 7015 Old Olympic Highway, Sequim, is home to the Pre-Christmas 27-Hole Tournament, set for Saturday, Dec. 12.
This is a two-person team event with three nine-hole formats. The first nine holes are best ball, the second nine are aggregate and the last nine are in scramble format.
The tourney begins with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start, barring any frost delay.
Cost is $80 per team for 27 holes; the fee pays for lunch, range balls and competition money. The tourney has spots for 28 two-person teams.

Reindeer run
set for Dec. 19
The Port Angeles Recreation Department is hosting a Reindeer Fun 5k/10k run or walk, beginning at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 19, at the Port Angeles City Pier. The course follows the Waterfront Trail.
Cost is $25 per person or $15 for runners/walkers 18 years old or younger. Cost includes shirts and antlers for participants and a raffle for prizes.

Indoor soccer
leagues planned
Officials are accepting registration forms for the annual Peninsula College indoor soccer league that starts in January.
The league features three divisions: one for competitive players, one for recreational players and a women-only division. Games are five-on-five with two, 25-minute halves at the Peninsula College gym, 1502 E. Lauridsen Blvd., Port Angeles.
Cost is $30 per player or $225 per team.
Applications and fees must be received by Dec. 30.
