Eagles football squad sets practices at Greywolf
The Olympic Peninsula Eagles, an adult semi-pro football team, is hosting practices starting at noon each Saturday throughout the winter and spring, beginning Jan. 9 at Greywolf Elementary School, 171 Carlsborg Road.
The team is seeking new players and coaches.
"We expect 30-plus (players) to be ready to participate next Saturday," said team member Kris Young.

First day, first ace
Sequim's Bob Hammond celebrated the first day of 2010 by sinking his first hole-in-one at The Cedars at Dungeness last Friday.
Hammond used a 7-iron to ace the 136-yard eighth hole at The Cedars.
Karl Dryfout, Ron Fye and Ted Larsen, all of
Sequim, witnessed the feat.
SkyRidge hosts
winter scramble
A three-person Winter Scramble golf tourney is slated for a 9:30 a.m. start on Saturday, Jan. 16, at SkyRidge Golf Course, 7015 Old Olympic Highway.
Each three-person team must have a total combined handicap of 15 or greater (20 percent of the total team handicap is used).
Cost is $150 per team; fee includes honey pot, lunch, KP prizes and range balls.

A.C. Paek of Port Angeles sank an ace at The Cedars at Dungeness on Dec. 9, the golfer's first hole-in-one.
Paek used a wedge to drive the 117-year eighth hole at The Cedars.
Steven McPherson of Sequim witnessed the feat.
Foursome takes four-person golf tourney
Golfers raised nearly $1,000 for the Port Angeles High School DECA Club at a four-person, scramble-format golf tournament at SkyRidge Golf Course on Dec. 19.
The team of Steve Nichols, Jules Nichols, Rob Price and Troy Pierce won low net honors with a 45.6 score. In second place with a score of 48.4 was the team of Captain Dusty, Peter Young, Toby Weidenheimer and Steve Hall.
Low gross went to Jeff Pedersen, Mark Willis, Allen Patton and Martin Pedersen with a final score of 60.
KPs went to Weidenheimer, Dusty Henry, Dennis Ferrie and Jeff Pedersen.
Josh Slowey was the winner in the perfect shot contest.
