HotSpot basketball competition set for Jan. 31

The Port Angeles Recreation Department hosts the 2010 HotSpot Basketball Competition, starting at 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 31, at the Vern Burton gymnasium, 308 E. Fourth St. in Port Angeles.
The HotSpot program is a basketball skills competition involving shooting from five spots on the basketball court for three, one-minute periods.
The free event features divisions for boys and girls ages 7-14 (as of March 31).
The gym opens at 4 p.m. and registration can be done on the day of competition. Participants need to bring a copy of their birth certificate.
