The Mariners, Yankees and the rest of Major League baseball aren’t the only ones filling up the diamonds this summer.
Sequim Little League’s all-star squads hit the field this week as they aim to advance to state, regional and national tourneys.
For the first time, Sequim is hosting the district’s softball tournament at James Standard Park, 136 Silberhorn Road, through July 11. Thanks to volunteer efforts from board members and parents, the league was able to host the tourney after building a second softball field.
Here are notes about each team. (A picture of the boys’ 10- and 11-year-old baseball all stars was not available at press time.)
