Mixed martial event is at 7 Cedars
The 7 Cedars Casino, 270756 Highway 101 in Blyn, hosts a mixed martial arts event on Saturday, Nov. 13.
Tickets are $30 for general seating, $65 for reserved seats. The event is open to those 18 and older (ID required), and is a nonsmoking event.
Doors open at 6 p.m., with fights at 7 p.m.
Special guest is Nate Diaz, winner of Ultimate Fighter (season 5).

SkyRidge hosts Kaps scholarship scramble
The Rick Kaps Scholarship Scramble at SkyRidge Golf Course (7015 Old Olympic Highway) is Friday, Nov. 26.
Proceeds provide scholarship money for Sequim High School seniors.
Entry fee is $220 per team before Nov. 25 or $240 per team the day of the tournament.
The format is a four-person scramble and the first 20 teams signed up are guaranteed a spot.
Tournament entry includes a meal, T-shirt, KP prizes, range balls and scholarship donation.
A shotgun start is scheduled for 9:30 a.m.
Local soccer youths compete
Several local soccer standouts recently participated in the Washington Recreation & Parks Association's State Soccer Challenge in Auburn, after qualifying in the local competition.
The Soccer Challenge tests each participants in four different categories: throw-ins, kick-for-distance, goal-shooting and timed dribbling.
Israel Gonzalez led the pack, finishing in second place out of 11 competitors (for the second year in a row) in the boys 6-and-younger division.
Bella Johnson, competing in the girls 9-10 division, finished in fourth place while Emma Krepps took sixth in the girls 6-and-younger bracket.
Delaney and Madelyn Wenzl also participated in the girls 7-8 and the girls 11-12 divisions, respectively, but did not place.
Klahhane gymnasts take third
Danica Miller and Haylee Ward led the Klahhane Gymnastics level 4 team to a third-place finish at the Scarecrow Scramble on Sunday, Nov. 7.
Miller finished third in the 11-and-older age group, scoring 35.8 all-around points. Ward also captured a third place medal in the 9-year-old age group with 35.2 points.
In the individual events, Ward finished first on uneven bars second on the balance beam and third on vault. Miller took first on uneven bars, second on floor and third on balance beam.
Christine Beirne finished fifth all-around in the 9-year-old age group, tying Ward for second on balance beam (8.6) and taking fourth in the floor event. Karlie Gochnour and Lauren Rankin brought home ninth-place medals.
Laura Rooney, competing in the 11-and-over age group, scored a 8.7 on vault and 30.85 all-around.
