The Sequim Wolf Pack board of directors elected veteran coach Phil Langston president of the nonprofit organization for 2011.

He was one of the founders of the new Sequim youth football program last year.

Langston coached basketball and football in Puyallup public schools for 12 years, and then stepped up to Pacific Lutheran University to coach basketball for two more years. In 1987, Langston moved his family to

Sequim, where he became head football coach at Sequim High School, taught high school English, and coached the girls’ varsity basketball team. From 1999-2003, he coached the Peninsula College women’s basketball team with Port Angeles coach Curt Bagby. Langston is now a self-employed residential appraiser. He and his wife Carolyn live near most of their family in Sequim-Dungeness.

“First and foremost we are now building our 2011 coaching staff,” Langston said. He urges those who want to participate to contact the program at info@sequimwolfpack.org, or call 582-9848.

“We are all proud of the showing our Sequim Wolf Pack youth made their first season,” Langston said. “We want to build on our success for another great year of tackle football.”

The Sequim Wolf Pack Youth Football Program is a USA Football sanctioned team and a member of the North Olympic Youth Football League. Team members range from 6-12 years in age.

The organization is a local, registered nonprofit corporation operating on donations from the community. For more information, see www.sequimwolfpack.org.
