The Pirates saw a little bit of everything at the Pierce Holiday Tournament in Tacoma last weekend.

In the end, the Pirates came away with one win in three games and a 3-4 mark overall heading into the Lane Crossover Tournament in Eugene, Ore., set for Dec. 14-16.

In the Pierce opener against Clackamas, the Pirates fell behind by six points in the first half and saw the Cougars run away with a 75-57 win. Taylor Larson led the Pirates with 24 points and seven rebounds while Karli Brakes had five assists. Clackamas, led by the 18 points of Tori Wilkinson, forced P.C. into 29 turnovers and 0-for-6 shooting from the 3-point line.

Peninsula got healthy quick in the consolation bracket, drubbing the Olympic Rangers 89-28. P.C. held a 44-13 lead by halftime. Abby Jones had 22 points and 13 rebounds, Jasmine Yarde added 19 points and Jonica Durbin had four blocks as all nine Peninsula players scored.

In the tourney final, Wenatchee Valley built a 12-point lead by halftime and held off the Pirates, 49-45. Dani Bray led the Lady Knights with 21 points. Larson and Yarde paced the Pirate offense with 12 points each while Brakes had six steals.

Peninsula is back in action at 5 p.m. on Dec. 14 in the Lane tourney opener against Spokane. Other teams at the tourney include Bellevue, Linn-Benton, Clark, Yakima Valley, South Puget Sound and the host Lane Titans.
