The road to the postseason just got tougher.

Sequim slipped a game behind Kingston for the fifth and final district playoff berth after a 44-25 loss at North Kitsap on Tuesday.

Rebekah Baugh scored 17 points and Kristin Brown added 11 as the Vikings (8-5 in league play, 9-7 overall) outscored Sequim 31-8 by halftime.

Alexas Besand led Sequim (5-8, 7-10) with nine points. No other Sequim player had more than three.

Kingston (6-7, 8-9) topped North Mason 24-19 to take a one-game lead over the Wolves.

Sequim is back in action Jan. 31 at league-leading Port Angeles. The Wolves then finish the season with home games against Bremerton on Feb. 5 and Port Townsend on Feb. 8.
