Sequim’s Mathew Craig and Port Angeles’ Scott Methner are headed to the state 2A swim and dive meet next weekend.

Craig, who placed fifth at the West Central District meet on Feb. 12 at Auburn High School, advanced to the state 2A meet by allocation.

Methner, who already had qualified for state prior to districts, took fourth at Auburn.

Craig’s score topped his score of 261.5 as a freshman last season. His top dive this year was a back one-and-half somersault with half twist for 31.50 points.

Both will compete for medals at the state meet set for Feb. 19-20 at the Federal Way Aquatic Center.
