They say we're entitled, narcissistic, lacking work ethic, constantly needing affirmation of our overinflated self-esteem and we just won't leave the shelter of our parents and let them BE already! Well, I say I deserve a day off for my hard work, some recognition for it's superior quality and yes, Mom, I will be at dinner on Sunday.

I'm just trying to hold on to my youth, really. Aren't we all?

Happy Halloween!

I went to Walmart over the weekend to check out the Halloween costume options. Here they are. Boys get to be strong, heroic, powerful characters like superheroes, gangsters and cowboys. Girls get to be cold. Or witches. By the way, what kind of cowgirl rides a horse in a mini skirt? Do you see her chasing stage coach robbers riding sidesaddle? Come on.

I will be wearing my costume (a black dress with a red flag reading "BANG!!" attached to the one sleeve...get it?) and passing out candy to trick-or-treaters tonight, which is a first for me. I hope to see some clever costumes!

Stay safe, warm and sane!
