Trinity United Methodist Church’s 28-member Chancel Choir hopes Sequim will celebrate Jesus’ birth early this holiday season.
At 11 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 13, the small group will perform the Christmas cantata “Come to the Manger” as part of its morning worship service.
Choir director Judy Gordon will orchestrate nine anthems with the Christmas story narrated in between by Marilyn Thompson and Mike Grizwold.
“I chose the cantata because the music and accompaniment make beautiful melodic sounds that come from ordinary Christmas carols,” Gordon said.
While the Christmas story is narrated, Jesus’ nativity story will be shown through reenactment scenes on two screens.
The 45-minute service is a one-time event and is free with seating for up to 250 people.
Several vocal soloists will sing in the event with accompaniment by Judy Sharp.
Trinity United Methodist Church is at 100 Blake Ave., Sequim.
