Two Sequim High School sophomores were honored by the Sequim Elks Lodge at its April Social Night Dinner.

Sydney Balkan was honored for the month of March and Haley McDonald for the month of April. Both were selected for high academic achievements as well as involvement in Sequim High activities.

Balkan is studying Honors Literature, geometry, Honors Western Civilization, chemistry, ceramics and Spanish I. Upon graduation, she plans to attend a four-year college/university to become a veterinarian. She is the daughter of Becky and Shawn Stanton.

McDonald is taking geometry, PE, choir, biology and Spanish I. Upon graduation, she plans to attend college but is not certain of her major at this time. She is the daughter of Shannon and Eric McDonald.
