Attend hiring/resource event

The public is invited to the Clallam County Hiring & Resource Event from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, at the Vern Burton Center, 308 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles. Learn about employment opportunities, apply for job openings and discover potential resources.

Dress interview ready and bring a resumé. Pre-register at WorkSource, 228 W. First St. Ste. A, Port Angeles, or register at the event.

There will be employers with current openings, employment providers and workshops and resources.


Wind Rose sets new hours

Wind Rose Cellars, 143 W. Washington St., has changed its hours. The business is open 1-6 p.m. Wednesdays, 1-8 p.m. Thursdays, 1-9 p.m. Fridays and noon-9 p.m. Saturdays.

Paulsen joins Ferrellgas

Ferrellgas announce the newest member of the Ferrellgas Family, Christine Paulsen, who is the customer service specialist for the Sequim office at 646 S. Third Ave. She is in the office from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday from to accept payments, answer billing questions, sign up new customers, place orders and answer phone calls. New realtor in town

Realtor Jim Styers has joined the real estate brokerage of Town & Country located in Sequim. He recently has relocated back to the Northwest from Thailand where he’d been working on several projects and business enterprises, including an America Visa Agency which he continues to own and operate. Antique shop now open

Anne’s Sequim Antiques, 253 W. Washington St., Sequim, is now open after its annual winter break. Current hours are 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Saturday.


Bank spearheads tuna drive

First Federal announces its first Bank-Wide Tuna Drive. All cans of tuna collected are distributed to local food banks within First Federal’s footprint of Sequim, Port Angeles, Port Townsend, Forks, Silverdale and Bellingham.

All First Federal employees are encouraged to donate a minimum of three cans of tuna every Friday. Each week they are challenged to break the previous week’s totals at each location.

Community members are encouraged to donate as well. All First Federal locations will be collecting cans of tuna now until March 28.


DeSalvo earns certification

Carolyn DeSalvo, M.D., of Rain Shadow Integrative Medicine, successfully completed Board Certification in Integrative Medicine through the American Board of Physician Specialties.

This new board certification, only available since 2015, signifies expertise in integrative medicine, requiring two years of fellowship training after medical school and residency and successful completion of a written examination. Around Again moves PA location

Around Again, a nonprofit recycling store, is moving its Port Angeles store to 3368 U.S. Highway 101, near the old Walmart store on the south side of the highway.

Around Again provides free recycling services and sells used building materials, tools and home furnishings. Store representatives say they’re moving to a “new, convenient location to better serve the community.”
