Soroptimist International of Sequim is seeking artists and photographers who wish to have an original creation selected as the featured artwork for the 19th Annual Gala Garden Show which takes place March 18-19, 2017.

The annual Gala Garden Show is one of the peninsula’s premier events. More than 2,000 people attended this event in 2015 and 2016.

Proceeds from the annual Gala Garden Show help fund many Sequim Soroptimist projects that benefit women and girls in local communities.

Each year an original work, donated by a local artist or photographer, is chosen to be the Garden Show logo. The logo is featured on marketing and publicity materials throughout the year.

The selected artwork will be prominently displayed at the 2017 Gala Garden Show and at other public events earlier in the year.

The artist or photographer also will be offered a free vendor booth at the 2017 Garden Show.

Criteria for artwork submissions

• Deadline for entry is July 10

• Subject must be garden-related

• Art forms eligible: Paintings and drawings — all mediums (oil, watercolor, pencil, pen, acrylic, chalk); photography; computer and digital art/visual and graphic design

• Size of artwork/image (without matting or framing) must be no smaller than 8 by 10 inches and no larger than 17 by 24 inches
