The Clallam County Genealogical Society will meet from 10 a.m.-noon Saturday, Jan. 9, at the Port Angeles Public Library’s Raymond Carver Room. The library is at 2210 S. Peabody St. in Port Angeles.
The meeting will feature a presentation by Virginia Majewski entitled “Anabaptists — Europe to America.”
The Anabaptist Protestants came to America to escape the religious prosecution of the 18th and 19th centuries. Majewski is a professional genealogist who found Mennonites in her lineage, a discovery that has led her to an extensive study of the history of the various Anabaptist sects. Discover the fascinating history of these early Americans and perhaps find some roots of your own ancestry.
Arrive 20 minutes early to register, have a cup of coffee and visit.
