Sunland Women’s Golf Association and Sunland Lady Niners are joining together to host their annual fund raising event, “Drive for the Cure” Golf Tournament and Luncheon at Sunland Golf Course, 109 Hilltop Drive, on Sept. 25.
The “Drive for the Cure” golf tournament welcomes men and women to play, have lunch and donate to the cause.
This event benefits Olympic Medical Center, helping to pay for breast cancer detection for women on the Olympic Peninsula.
Shotgun time for the 18-hole competition is 9 a.m. and the nine-hole game will shotgun at 11 a.m. Cost for Sunland members is $16; cost for non-members is $36 for 18 holes and $26 for nine holes; both fees include lunch.
Lunch-only tickets are $12. In addition, a donation of $25 for the OMC Foundation is suggested.
An anonymous Sunland Golf & Country Club couple will donate $1 for every $3 donated for the cause. Tourney directors say they anticipate raising more than last year’s total donations of $5,200.
The featured luncheon speaker is Dr. Rena Zimmerman, who will speak about 3-D mammography and breast cancer in men.
Gift baskets and other prizes will be raffled following play.
Deadline to sign up is at noon Sept. 23.
