Signing Wednesday from the men’s team were Victor Sanchez, who will play at the University of Great Falls, an NAIA college; Caio Maciel, who is going to Division II Queens University of Charlotte; and Keevan Webb, who signed with Division II Simon Fraser University.

A number of other sophomores will play on following their graduation from Peninsula in June, but those student athletes have yet to decide on colleges.

“I am happy to see that they took care of things on the field and in the classroom and still have a love for the game,” Kanyon Anderson, head coach of men’s and women’s soccer squad in 2014, said of this class of sophomores. “This group will continue to represent the program well after they move on to universities and beyond.”

National Signing Day represents the time when colleges across the nation celebrate the success of their players who sign letters of intent to continue their play at the next level.

“As the program has progressed over the past five years, I find myself talking less about winning games and more about where our players have gone upon graduation from Peninsula,” Anderson said. “The goal is to help the athletes earn their degree, improve as students and athletes and earn a chance to play at the next level.”
