Doug Cockburn, owner of Landscapes by Cockburn Inc., recently attended a Washington State University Extension class for Rain Garden Professionals in Bremerton. Olympic Wi-Fi hosts food drive

Olympic Wi-Fi’s sixth annual food drive is under way at 461 W. Washington St., Sequim, where the business is accepting donations for the Sequim Food Bank from 9:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Monday-Friday and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday.

Contest in apple pie order

The Port Angeles Farmers Market holds its first apple pie contest on Nov. 17 at the Gateway at the corner of Front and Lincoln streets. McComb crew attends intensive maple conference

Cindy Pemberton, Mary Hicks and Ernie Gann of McComb Gardens attended the Maple Society North American Branch 2012 Conference in Seattle, Oct. 18-21.

The conference featured some of the most knowledgeable maple growers and collectors in the world.
