The produce is overflowing the tables – boxes of corn, bundles of carrots, bags of greens and sweet basil, oh my! The onions are sweet and so is the watermelon!

There is so much variety right here, right now, and that includes local flour. We are very fortunate to have locally grown and ground wheat flour; do not miss this opportunity to eat fresh organic wheat. At my house, we exclusively bake with Nash’s flours that come in a variety of types from white pastry flour to whole wheat grinds.

What’s new at the market is Ree Huston’s new book! Ree has her book for sale only at Sequim Open Aire Market and on her website www.ICareBooks.com. "Country Critters, A Family Fun Book Exploring Pictures, Prose & Poetry" has many pictures from right here in Sequim. It has been having rave reviews and selling well. It would entertain folks from 6-90 years. Stop by Ree’s I Care! Cosmetics booth to see this book with many pictures by Digi Photos.

Dan Huston takes amazing photographs of the Sequim and peninsula area. They are available as note cards as well as framed or unframed pictures. He and Ree share their business, so either can be of help when you visit them at Digi Photos or I Care! Cosmetics each Saturday.

Howly Slim and the Boys will be playing this week from 11 a.m.-2 p.m., singing blues and rock and roll.

The community booths will be hosted by Friends of the Garden and Family Planning, that is offering information on breast and colon cancer.
