Youths from the Clallam and Jefferson County 4-H groups competed in Senior Performance categories at the Washington State Fair in Puyallup in early September.

In Showmanship, Ciara Gentry, Cassidy Hodgin, Holly Cozzolino and Kaytee Gibeau each earned blue ribbons.

In Huntseat, Cozzolino, Gibeau, Hodgin and Haylie Newton each earned blue ribbons with a callback to the championship class.

In Stockseat, Cozzolino, Hodgin, Newton and Paige Swordmaker earned blue ribbons with a callback and fifth place in the championship class. In Disciplined Rail Western, Cozzolino, Newton, Swordmaker and Ashley Farmer earned blues with a callback to the championship class.

Finally, in Bareback, Cozzolino, Gentry and Swordmaker earned blue ribbons with a callback to the championship class.

“Our two counties had a great time showing our horses and being with our friends,” Katie Salmon-Newton said.”It was hot and sunny and the days were long, but fun.”
