Cindy Mangutz, poster artist for the Sequim Centennial Celebration, displays her progress on the poster from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3, at Hurricane Coffee, 104 W. Washington St., Sequim.
She’ll also do an art demonstration.
Mangutz was hired in September 2011 by the Sequim Centennial Committee to paint a historical picture of Sequim for the upcoming celebration.
The poster art, done in primitive folk art style, will focus on historical sites and key landmarks in the City of Sequim and surrounding areas pre-World War II. The poster is set for completion and available for purchase in May 2012.
The Sequim Centennial Celebration kicks off in October 2012 and encompasses an entire year of events culminating with a grand finale in November 2013 marking the 100th anniversary of the incorporation of the City of Sequim.
Mangutz also displays her art from noon-4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, at the Museum and Art Center, 175 W. Cedar St.
