Simply put, owners of the recently reopened Baja Cantina. 820 W. Washington St., Suite B, want customers to know the restaurant is under new management and ready to serve authentic, hot Mexican food.

They said keeping the business’ name and large colorful sign made sense, too.

“Everybody knows of Baja,” said Martha Acosta, one of the co-owners.

For more than a month the eatery has been hopping, serving full houses its hot picks such as Baja Fish Tacos and Tequila Flaming Fajitas.

The large menu ranges from appetizers to combination plates. There are menu items for seniors 60 and up and from 3-5 p.m. they can enjoy tacos, enchiladas, tamales and more at discounted prices.

As a special touch, staff make fresh flour and corn tortillas daily from scratch.

Along with its many meat items, including local salmon, Baja Cantina offers vegetarian options and a full bar.

Acosta said she hopes people will try her restaurant because of its nice atmosphere and meet the friendly staff while supporting her family’s locally owned and operated business.
