Sarah Bailey is Olympic Medical Center’s new registered dietitian.
Bailey joins Vickie Everett, RD and certified diabetes educator, in providing clinical and outpatient nutrition counseling by physician referral. She also serves on Olympic Medical’s safety committee, the Port Angeles School District’s student nutrition and fitness advisory committee, and partners with the YMCA and Port Angeles School District to bring the Actively Changing Together program to Port Angeles students and families this fall.
“I became a dietitian because of an interest of helping people prevent chronic disease, but also because I am excited to have a job where I spend all day talking to people about food,” says Bailey, who graduated with a Master’s of Science in Nutritional Science from University of Washington.
“Sarah has a passion for great food and healthy living, which she shares with patients and families,” says Graciela Harris, director of nutrition services, Olympic Medical.
“She is a strong advocate for the nutritional needs of her patients and helping them develop practical solutions to improve their wellbeing through healthy food choices.”
Bailey completed her dietetic internship at Harborview Medical Center and University of Washington.
She also completed a nine-month leadership education traineeship in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities at the Center on Human Development and Disability (CHDD) in Seattle. She is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, the academy’s Diabetes Care and Education practice group, as well as the Greater Seattle Dietetics Association.
