The Vision Loss Center offers free seminars and resources for the blind and those with low vision from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1, in St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 525 N. Fifth Ave.
The event features information on helping those with vision difficulties find services for traveling, working with guide dogs, canes, public transportation, and more.
Kyle Parrish, director of the Vision Loss Center, said the purpose of the event is to help people with blindness and low vision to travel easier. “It’s all about people getting out there,” he said.
Clallam Transit will be on site to help participants take pictures for senior/disabled passes and to sign up for Paratransit services.
Parrish said demo equipment such as electronic video magnifiers from the Vision Loss Center in Port Angeles, which closed in May, will be available to take home for a donation to the center.
Leaders with the center continue to seek a site, preferably in Sequim due to its high usership base of the center, but Parrish said they haven’t been able to find an affordable space on their small budget.
