First Federal recruits D’Urso
First Federal Port Angeles announces that Halina D’Urso has joined First Federal Investment Services — the bank’s growing retail investment services group — as a financial consultant.
D’Urso will work with the bank’s clients in Clallam, Jefferson, Kitsap and Whatcom counties. Having previously worked with Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, Banker’s Life & Casualty Company, New York Life Insurance and LPL Financial, D’Urso has experience in multi-generational financial planning and proven success in investment advisory work.
Employees gain promotions at Sequim hotel, diner
The Holiday Inn Express–Sequim promoted Kevin Merrigan to maintenance manager and the Black Bear Diner in Sequim promoted Adam Jones to assistant manager.
Merrigan, who has been in charge of maintenance at the Holiday Inn Express–Sequim since November 2014, will now manage maintenance at the Quality Inn and Suites, Sequim and the Black Bear Diner, Sequim, too.
Jones, who was a line cook at the Black Bear Diner since April 2014, is now responsible for helping to manage both the kitchen and the dining room at the busy restaurant.
Wirta Hospitality Worldwide also has promoted Nancy Merrigan to general manager at the Quality Inn and Suites in Sequim. Merrigan, began with Wirta Hospitality Worldwide in May 2012 at the Holiday Inn Express and Suites where she is the assistant manager.
Dine to Donate event planned
The Black Bear Diner, 1471 E. Washington St., Sequim, is hosting a Dine to Donate event to support Dungeness Valley Health and Wellness Clinic from 7-10 a.m. and 3-6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15. During this time 15 percent of all proceeds will benefit the clinic, which provides urgent and chronic medical care for the uninsured and underinsured in the community.
