Soroptimist International Club of Sequim honored Laura Moser as February Girl of the Month and Mary Cherrett as March Girl of the Month.
Moser is a senior at Sequim High School. She is taking advanced placement classes and maintaining a 4.0 grade-point average while participating in jazz band, music theory, wind ensemble and the Sequim City Band.
Moser said she takes great pride in being a member of the Honor Society and Link Crew.
When not running on the cross country team or track & field team, she participates in the Faith Lutheran Church bell choir and helps her mother Brenda Spandrio teach Sunday school.
After graduation, Moser plans to attend a private university and earn a degree in engineering.
Cherrett also is a senior at SHS. She is active in many clubs including Random Acts of Kindness, Link Crew, International Club, Honor Society, Interact Club and WIN (Women in Networks), a Soroptimist program.
Besides taking advanced placement classes in physics, Spanish and government, Cherrett said she enjoys running the court as part of the girls’ tennis team. Cherrett works part time at QFC and gets involved with her Sequim community by participating in events such as the cancer Relay for Life. She walks in memory of Marie Angier.
Cherrett’s plans include attending Central Washington University, where she hopes to major in chemistry or physics and a pre-med program with hopes of working in the science/medical fields.
Cherrett is the daughter of John and Toni Cherrett.
