State modifies sport oyster seasons on public tidelands

The sport oyster fishing seasons for 2016 will be lengthened or shifted on the beach at Sequim Bay State Park, based on results from population and harvest assessments.

The sport oyster fishing seasons for 2016 will be lengthened or shifted on the beach at Sequim Bay State Park, based on results from population and harvest assessments.

Effective dates are from April 1 until further notice and all oyster species are affected.

Surveys at Sequim Bay State Park indicate that the oyster population on this beach has increased and the season can be extended to three months. Fishers must have a current Washington fishing license.
