The first in the series is Ballet Victoria’s “Romeo and Juliet” on Saturday, March 5.

With a legendary score by Sergei Prokofiev, the Shakespeare-inspired “Romeo and Juliet” is one of the most beloved ballets of all time. With new choreography by artistic director Paul Destrooper, Ballet Victoria’s dancing will bring this legendary story of young love and family politics to life. Ballet Victoria, the premier dance troupe in Victoria, is known for its showcases featuring classical, contemporary and modern dance performances.

The second event on Friday, March 11, is “Barrage 8,” which features all instruments in the modern string family. The “8” in the name represents a re-imagining of the string octet: four violins, two violas, cello and double bass. Its contemporary string arrangements of music both familiar and new.

The final presentation on Thursday, March 24, features the world-famous Glenn Miller Orchestra. With more than 20 musicians and singers, the band still brings the Glenn Miller sound — performing songs everyone remembers such as “In The Mood,” “Moonlight Serenade,” “Chattanooga Choo Choo,” “String of Pearls” and “Tuxedo Junction.” With its unique, swinging jazz sound, the Glenn Miller Orchestra is considered to be one of the greatest bands of all time.
