Swanky swine share the spotlight

Valentine's Performing Pigs dazzle at library

Nellie the pig has performed for Jay Leno, David Letterman and a live audience on "America’s Got Talent," but faced a different audience Wednesday.

Dozens of children sat on the floor of a Sequim Middle School assembly room trying to get a glimpse of Nellie and her opening acts, Snort and the Duchess of Pork.

The pigs, known as Valentine’s Performing Pigs, belong to Steve and Priscilla Valentine, of Gig Harbor.

The pigs skate boarded, exercised, spun around and even bowled as part of their performance for the Sequim Library summer reading program.

It was the third performance for the program, which runs through the

summer. The Sequim Friends of the Library supports the program.

The next event is "Mad Science," today, July 14.

The events start at 10:30 a.m. behind the Sequim Library at 630 N. Sequim Ave. If the weather isn’t conducive to being outdoors, the events are held at Sequim Middle School, 301 W. Hendrickson Road.
