Students who are attending or will be attending Peninsula College are encouraged to apply for scholarships for the 2015-2016 academic year.
All applications are due by April 21. Applications submitted after the April 21 deadline will not be accepted.
The college and the Peninsula College Foundation are offering about 30 scholarships and more than $80,000 in scholarship money to students attending Peninsula College for the 2015-2016 school year. The scholarships support a variety of students, including those studying nursing, medical assisting, automotive technology, welding, science, English, business administration and other programs.
In addition to program-related scholarships, there also are scholarships available to support single parents, adults returning to college, students with financial need and more.
How to apply
Interested individuals should visit www.thewashboard.org to create a log-in and start a personal profile. Washboard is a free, one-stop-site for Washington students seeking college scholarships. The user-friendly site allows students to search and apply for verified scholarships that are specific to their academic interests, college or university, or other criteria.
Then, enter “Peninsula College” in the search toolbar to review the list of all available Peninsula College and Peninsula College Foundation scholarships for the 2015-2016 school year. Review the scholarship application criterial and apply.
Students are encouraged to start the process early as many scholarships require recommendations, personal essays and unofficial transcripts to complete applications.
Other tips for scholarship success include completing the personal profile section so the scholarship committee is better informed about scholarship applicants.
College officials suggest students write a personal statement that defines aspirations, career goals and talents.
Scholarship award notifications are provided to students beginning May 15.
