Sequim pianist/violinist/composer Jennifer Thomas won three awards at the fifth annual Indie Music Channel Awards on April 24-25 in Los Angeles at the Grammy Museum.

She won “Best Live Classical Performance” for her concert with the Ensign Symphony and Chorus at Benaroya Hall in Seattle last December, “Best Classical Music Video” (over a $5,000 budget), and “Music Video of the Year” (all genres) with both video awards for her original song “Alleluia.”

Thomas said part of “Alleluia” was filmed in Sequim.

Winners were determined by a panel of industry professionals, recording artists, journalists, radio professionals, producers and engineers.

“I feel very honored to be a part of this organization that supports independent musicians and as I’ve been involved for four years now, it feels like family to me,” Thomas said.

In 2013, she was awarded nine IMC Awards, including “Album of the Year” and “Artist of the Year.”

Her recent awards were for her most recent album “Winter Symphony,” which features a number of key players such as Swedish film composer Glen Gabriel, Seattle’s Ensign Chorus, violinist Taylor Davis and film score vocalist Felicia Farerre.

All of the songs were written and/or arranged by Thomas and features her on both piano and violin, and the album was mixed by Grammy Award winning engineer Brian Vibberts.

Thomas hosts her home studio in Sequim and moved here last August from the Seattle area with her husband Will and three sons.
