The City of Sequim is encouraging Sequim residents to gather at the James Center for the Performing Arts at 10 a.m. this Friday (June 6) for a commemorative ceremony and “Diamond Four” P-51 Mustang Formation Flyover that marks the the 70th Anniversary of D-Day.
The flyover is part of a coordinated path over Western Washington sponsored by the Historic Flight Foundation.
The James Center is at the Water Reuse Demonstration Site just north of Carrie Blake Park.
The ceremony begins at 10 a.m. and includes a speech by Sequim City Mayor Candace Pratt, veterans/city council members Dennis Smith and Erik Erichsen, and Carl Bradshaw, Commander of the Jack Grennan American Legion Post 62 in Sequim.
The Marine Corp Honor Guard and a bugle performance of Taps by Bradshaw are included in the ceremony.
The flyover is expected to take place at 10:30 a.m.
