Forty children worked out their inner Picassos for the first Art on a Farm.
The event put on by Friends of the Fields brought in 10 children per hour to Nash Huber’s Delta Farm on Towne Road.
"We wanted children to realize there are working farms in their community," said Patty McManus-Huber, co-organizer.
Participating children could choose to sketch and/or paint geese, sunflowers, barns and more.
Three volunteer local artists – Carrie Rodlend, Martha Rudersdorf and Jenny Steelquist – provided help for the artists.
Money raised goes toward Friends of the Fields’ efforts to preserve farmland such as the Jarvis families’ Finn Hall Farm on Finn Hall Road.
All art will be on display at The Buzz, 128 N. Sequim Ave., Sequim, and Sept., 27, at the Friends of the Fields’ annual harvest dinner.
