For the first time, Serenity House hosts “The Dream Run,” a 5K run and walk, on Jan. 20 — Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
Community members of all ages (and their well-behaved dogs on leashes) may walk or run the Olympic Discovery Trail course, starting at City Pier, at the base of Lincoln Street in downtown Port Angeles.
Proceeds from the event go directly to securing safe and stable housing for community members who will be contacted through the Point in Time Homeless Count on Jan. 23.
The Dream Run entry fee is $10 per runner/walker. Pre-race registration forms are available at the Serenity House thrift stores and the Serenity House Administrative Office. Runners/walkers/joggers may also register on race day.
Race-day registration begins at 8 a.m. at the City Pier. The race begins at 9 a.m. Prizes are awarded to first-, second- and third-place runners.
