It’s a fundraiser on wheels, so to speak.
For the first time, Price Ford Lincoln is bringing its “Drive One 4 Your School Fundraiser” to Sequim. Set for 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on Sunday, May 4, at Sequim High School, the event raises money for the school’s Associated Student Body fund.
For every test drive of a new Ford or Lincoln, Price Ford donates $20 toward Sequim High School’s ASB fund up to $6,000 (300 test drives).
Joel Elliott, sales manager at Price Ford and event coordinator, said the company reps won’t be selling any vehicles but rather making sure they raise funds for SHS students. Those who take a test drive may contact sales reps after the event.
“There is absolutely no pressure to sell,” Elliott said. “We don’t even talk prices.”
Elliott noted that Price Ford has been doing the event for Port Angeles High School the past five years and raised more $30,000 for various programs.
The drive process takes about 10 minutes and includes a quick registration followed by a four- to five-minute drive in a new Ford or Lincoln vehicle.
As of 2013, Ford Motor Company has donated over $20 million to schools and community organizations through more than one million test drives.
“I am thrilled to be able to give back to the schools in a way that supports programs that are vital learning skills for the betterment of our graduating classes,” said David Price, owner of Price Ford Lincoln. “The ‘Drive One 4 Your School’ event is a great opportunity to work with the local high school students in supporting our schools while showcasing our class-leading Ford and Lincoln vehicles,” Price said.
