Shake off those winter blues with jazz at P.C.

The Peninsula College Jazz Ensemble presents its annual winter concert concert at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, in Maier Performance Hall on the main campus, 1502 E. Lauridsen Blvd., Port Angeles. The performance is free.

 

Under the direction of Dr. David P. Jones, P.C. music director, the ensemble features standards by James Van Heusen and Antonio Carlos Jobim along with music by Duke Ellington, Woody Herman, Thelonious Monk, Horace Silver, Hank Mobley and Chuck Mangione. Two new works by Jones also are on the bill.

 

Featured soloist Robbin Eaves sings “How Insensitive,” “I Remember April” and “I Could Have Told You.”

Band members include Bob Hagan, Sanford Feibus and Duncan Skinner of Sequim; Bob Bailey, Kevin MacCartney, Richard Thorson, Steve Lingle, Jared Herr, Brittany Brabant, Malachi Mulhair, Sophy Doryland, Elaine Gardner-Morales, Mike Mills and Tor Brandes, all of Port Angeles; John Adams of Port Townsend; John Sanders of Quilcene; and Robbin Eaves of Joyce.
