The stage is a busy place at Olympic Theatre Arts.
Cast members and board members announced the theater’s 2015-2016 season on June 7 at an invite-only celebration. As is tradition, OTA features five Main Stage shows starting this fall:
• “The Real Inspector Hound” and “Fifteen Minute Hamlet” by Tom Stoppard with two one-act plays presented as one show from Sept. 4-20. Miles Carignan directs.
• “The Man Who Came to Dinner” by George Kaufman and Moss Hart from Oct. 20-Nov. 15. Olivia Shea directs.
• “I Do, I Do” by Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt from Feb. 3-21. Charlotte Carroll directs.
• “Squabbles” by Marshall Karp from April 8-24. Larry Harwood directs.
• “Scapino!” by Frank Dunlop and Jim Dale from July 8-24. Pat Owens directs.
The theater also features three Second Stage productions.
• The annual “Holiday Revue” from Dec. 11-13 with more details to come.
• William Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night or What You Will” on Jan. 9-10. Rich Hendrickson directs.
• “Tom Foolery” by Tom Lehrer from May 13-22. Anna Andersen directs.
“We have a wide range of comedic genres from sitcom to musical to surreal written by some remarkably talented playwrights,” productions committee chairman Olivia Shea said.
“We go from Moliere to Stoppard, from large casts to small, from new OTA directors to veterans and we have three musical events this year, which are always popular.”
Season tickets are now on sale with four different packages. For more information, visit www.olypmictheatrearts.org or the OTA business office, 414 N. Sequim Ave., open 1-5 p.m. Monday-Friday. Season ticket subscribers receive first choice in reserved seating if purchasing before individual tickets go on sale Aug. 1.
Early bird patrons purchasing season tickets by July 10 will receive a bonus ticket which can be used for any show.

‘Picasso at the Lapin Agile’
OTA’s next production, “Picasso at the Lapin Agile,” by Steve Martin and directed by Anna Andersen, revealed its cast last week.
It focuses on Albert Einstein (played by Miles Carignan) and Pablo Picasso (Sean Peck-Collier), who meet at a bar in Paris with both men on the verge of an amazing idea debating the value of genius and talent.
“Picasso at the Lapin Agile” runs July 10-26 at 7:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays with a $10 preview night on July 9 and Pay What You Will performance on July 16.
Other characters include Ron Graham as Freddy the bartender and owner of the Lapin Agile, Freddy’s girlfriend Germaine (Angela Poynter-Lemaster), Picasso’s love interest Suzanne (Mindy Gelder and Jenny Sies), art dealer Sagot (Pat Owens), young inventor Charles Dabernow Schmendiman (Mike Roggenbuck), Kaylee Ditlefsen as the Countess/admirer and Danny Willis as “the visitor.”
One-act plays auditions set
Auditions for the first Main Stage show of OTA’s new season, two one-act plays, “The Real Inspector Hound” and “Fifteen Minute Hamlet” by Tom Stoppard, will be from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, June 27, and 6-8 p.m. Friday, July 3, at OTA, 414 N. Sequim Ave.
Director Miles Carignan will have candidates read from the plays’ scripts which are available for review at OTA in advance.
“Inspector Hound” presents a case of mistaken identity when two critics are assigned to a murder mystery play while “Fifteen Minute Hamlet” is Shakespeare’s “Hamlet” performed in 15 minutes.
Carignan seeks five males ages 20-60-plus and three females ages 20-50 and actors will be asked to play multiple roles.
The show will open Sept. 4 and run three weeks with rehearsals beginning in July.
