Like a band of troubadours from merry olde England in years gone by, Readers Theatre Plus (RT+) is back after a brief hiatus. In March, RT+ will produce a comedy-farce, “The Cupcake Conspiracy.”
Auditions will be held starting next week, both in Sequim and Port Angeles. Sequim auditions will be from 6-8 p.m. Feb. 17 at the Museum & Arts DeWitt Administration building, 544 N. Sequim Ave. Port Angeles auditions will be from 6-8 p.m. Feb. 21 at the Mount Pleasant Grange Hall, 2432 Mount Pleasant Road, Port Angeles.
Directed by Janice Parks, “The Cupcake Conspiracy” will be performed March 20-22 and March 27-29 at the Mount Pleasant Grange. Actors will be given audition material at the site and will be expected to be available for all performance dates. Rehearsal dates TBA.
The roles for “The Cupcake Conspiracy” are:
Max — male – late 20s-50s – a nervous air traffic controller who sneaks out on a blind date behind his soon-to-be ex-wife’s back.
Natasha — female – 20s-40s – a beautiful, sultry Silesian terrorist who has a thing about cupcakes.
Alvin — male – 20s-40s – a man of many identities.
Suzie — female – 20s-50s – fund analyst, assertive but insecure, Max’s soon-to-be ex.
There are also two supporting players who could be either two males or one male and one female. They play the following characters: hotdog vendor, bouncer/Vince, a henchman, Ignatz, a security guard, two terrorists and the narrator.
