‘Dance Night’ series begins at 7 Cedars

The Olympic Express Big Band kicks off 7 Cedars Casino’s new “Dance Night” series from 6-10 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, in Club Seven. A two-for-one buffet is in the Salish Room. The series continues on the second Thursday of each month.

New staff, office at Cherry Creek

Local farmer speaks at conference

Sam McCullough, grain, equipment and vegetable manager at Nash’s Organic Produce in Sequim, presents “Growing Grains West of the Cascades” at the Cascadia Grains Conference on Jan. 12 at the STAR Center in Tacoma. The conference is organized by Washington State University.

McCullough and co-presenter Dr. Andrew Corbin, WSU’s Extension director in Snohomish County, discuss small grain production from research to retail and how farmers can incorporate grains into a diversified vegetable farming operation.

Get into the ‘Culinary Loop’

The Olympic Culinary Loop, a four-county culinary/agritourism organization, invites the community to learn more and start networking Monday-Tuesday, Jan. 14-15. Declutter new year with workshops

Brenda Spandrio, The Declutter Lady, hosts free workshops in January to celebrate the ninth annual Get Organized Month. Each of the three workshops will be given at two times — late afternoon and evening — and all will take place at the Quality Inn & Suites, 134 River Road, Sequim.

Managing Paper Clutter: Tuesday, Jan. 29, at 3:30-4:30 p.m. or 5:30-6:30 p.m.

Workshop covers retirement needs
