Exercise geared toward Parkinson’s patients

Kevin Pedrey of Sequim Gym successfully completed the Rock Steady Boxing Training Camp and is certified to offer Rock Steady Boxing training classes to individuals with Parkinson’s disease who live in the area. Classes start in May at the Sequim Gym.

The Rock Steady Boxing program involves regular exercises, such as stretching, bicycling, running, jump-roping, push-ups, balancing and lots of non-contact boxing, led by experienced trainers/coaches. Rock Steady Boxing serves both men and women of all ages and levels of ability.

Salon hosts open house

Xochitl’s Salon, a new business at 201 S. Sunnyside Ave., Sequim, will have an open house from noon-4 p.m. Saturday, May 28. Owner/manager Xochitl Wasankari will provide snacks and offer $5 off haircuts and 20 percent off products, plus a take-home free gift.

The salon specializes in haircuts, coloring, perms, pedicures/manicures and waxing. The public is invited to meet the salon’s stylists and take advantage of its in-shop specials.
