Letter: Remove payoff for illegal immigrants

Each time that amnesty for illegal immigrants has become an issue, the media campaign always refers to the “broken immigration system” that somehow has to be fixed. Their solution always has been to grant amnesty for the millions of those illegal immigrants who now reside within our borders.

Remove payoff for    illegal immigrants

Each time that amnesty for illegal immigrants has become an issue, the media campaign always refers to the “broken immigration system” that somehow has to be fixed. Their solution always has been to grant amnesty for the millions of those illegal immigrants who now reside within our borders.

They also refer to the Latino population as if every Latino believes the same thing. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Since 1987, there have been seven large scale amnesties granted for the sake of the “broken immigration system,” offering those amnesties as the fix. This has increased illegal immigration, not fixed the problem.

The problem is not the immigration system itself, but those who ignore the immigration system, depending on the acceptance of the American people.

The solution to the illegal immigration problem lies in stopping the influx of illegal immigrants by taking action to secure the border, holding businesses responsible who hire illegal immigrants and to stop the taxpayer dollars given to these people both directly and indirectly.

Remove the payoff for illegal immigrants.

As a nation of immigrants, we deserve to have our taxpayer dollars spent in an effort to take care of those who are within our borders legally.

I applaud Mr. Obama’s decision to not take administrative action in favor of illegal immigrants.
