Fiddlers host campout workshops
District 15, Washington Old Time Fiddlers Association, hosts its annual old-time music campout June 9-12 at the Sequim Prairie Grange, 290 Macleay Road, Sequim.
The event is open to the public and includes workshops, jam sessions and performances. Donations are welcome. Workshop leaders are The Canote Brothers, Greg and Jere Canote, who play and teach fiddle, guitar, banjo, ukulele and mandolin. Guitar night at OTA
The Mujeres de Maiz Opportunity Foundation is presenting “Men With Guitars,” an evening of music from the 1950s-1970s, at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 4, at Olympic Theatre Arts, 414 N. Sequim Ave.
Suggested donation is $15 and all proceeds go to programs and projects to provide access to education to indigenous women and children in Chiapas, Mexico.
Wine and beer are available.
Students read own works at Studium Generale
Students from Dr. Janet Lucas’ Creative Writing class read from their original works at the June 2 Studium Generale, at 12:35 p.m. in Peninsula College’s Little Theater, 1502 E. Jazz ensemble unites with vocalist
The Peninsula College Jazz Ensemble present a free Spring Quarter Concert at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 7, in Maier Performance Hall on the PC campus, 1502 E. Lauridsen Blvd., Port Angeles. The band features Robbin Eaves on vocals backed by a 16-piece jazz big band. The ensemble will be joined by local Kate Powers on electric violin. Performers in the band include Lorenzo Jones and Bob Hagan of Sequim.
