It was another wild ride for sprint boat races at an American Sprint Boat Racing Series event at the Port Angeles Extreme Sports Park.
Twenty four racers in three divisions battled the tight turns and each other for top times. The field included two entries from Sequim’s own TNT RacingWicked Racing and two from Port Angeles’ own Wicked Racing.
Teri Cummings of TNT Racing said racing before fans on the Olympic Peninsula is something special. “You have all your hometown fans , so everybody is watching you. You know there’s pressure in your hometown because you want to do good. I want to make my hometown proud.”
Fans and racers alike get another chance to wow the peninsula crowd when the racing series returns to the Extreme Sports Park for the national event, set for Sept. 7. The series continues Aug. 24 at Webb’s Slough in St. John, Washington.
