This spring, Renne Brock-Richmond offers community education computer classes through Peninsula College in Sequim that are for beginners, individuals with creative flair, budding Webmasters and people interested in the exploring the digital world.
Sign up through Peninsula College for one or more of these four classes: Computer Basics, Photoshop Elements, Web site Design and Digital Photography.
Classes are at Sequim Community School, 220 W. Alder St.

Wishing you knew more? Whether you’ve already had a class or haven’t turned on your computer, this basic class helps improve skills. Information on purchasing the right computer is included with the terminology and component information you need to know to ask questions. Topics include creating, moving and organizing files and folders, opening and closing software, basic computer maintenance, saving and sending your pictures, the Internet and Internet security, researching online and e-mail communications.

_ Web site design
Web sites are a perfect place to store your family photos and history or showcase your hobby. Learn to design and build a Web site, explore usability, optimize images for the Web, create links and audience connectivity. Business owners learn the ease of use of Content Management System, software that assists in the organization and presentation of content on a Web site. Students need basic computer skills to be successful.

_ Photoshop Elements
Preserve history through pictures. Develop skills using Adobe Photoshop Elements computer software to edit digital images and prepare photos for the Internet (Web or e-mail). Teachers supply the photos and teach techniques to work with one’s own pictures. Students should have basic computer skills.
Class meets 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, March 31-June 2.

_ Digital photography
Whether you are new to the world of digital photography or a longtime user of a digital camera, this class helps with tips and instruction to improve skills. Some topics covered are resolution, digital exposure, white balance, camera functions, image capture, processing, printing, archiving and storage. Bring your own camera and camera manual if possible.
