Over Homework Hill and under the Flat Stanley limbo bar, through the Enchanted Forest and past “hot lava” they ran.
More than 100 runners, joggers, walkers and too-young-to-race ride-alongs made their way through the racecourse at the third Back 2 School Family Fun Run on Saturday. The turnout was the biggest yet, event organizers said.
Sponsored by the Sequim School Dsitrict, Boys & Girls Clubs of the Olympic Peninsula along with major sopnsor Anytime Fitness, the event raised more than $800 — also an eventt record — that goes to help fund classrom activities through the Sequim Education Foundation.
Middle school-aged racers ruled the day, with Sequim eighth-grade brothers Connor and Rylie Martin taking top honors and eighth-grader Emily Glenn posting the fastest time for females.
