Free movies on tap at library

The Sequim Library, 630 N. Sequim Ave., will offer its free Summer Movie Series at 2 p.m. on Fridays throughout July as part of the 2016 Summer Reading Program. The free series will provide out-of-the-sun family entertainment, snacks and fun movie trivia.

The series kicks-off July 1 with a screening of “Race for your Life, Charlie Brown.” “Air Bud Special Edition” will come to the screen on July 8. “Cars” will continue the series on July 15. On July 22, take your family to see “Babe.” The final feature of the Summer Movie Series will be “Racing Stripes” on July 29.

Sequimite is symphony president

A new president, Sequim resident Marie Meyers, was elected to helm the Port Angeles Symphony Board of Directors during the community orchestra’s recent annual meeting.

Meyers, both a longtime volunteer board member and piccolo player in the symphony, will lead the nonprofit organization into its 84th season of events and concerts around the North Olympic Peninsula. Also during its annual meeting, the board re-elected longtime members Ron Stecker as vice president and Chuck Whitney as treasurer.

Movement storytime at PA library

As part of the annual summer reading program at the North Olympic Library System, the Port Angeles Library, 2210 S. Peabody St., will present a creative movement storytime at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 29, for toddlers between the ages of 1-3. The morning will feature songs, rhymes and stories for movers and shakers. Toddlers will strengthen their bodies and brains with creative movements and explore their imaginations while balancing, creating rhythm and becoming an active participant in this fun-filled storytime. This program will work on both large and fine motor skills, spatial awareness, and help improve balance and coordination.
