Best of the Book Battle

The Helen Haller Yellow Adventurers — Deacon Budnek, Ruby Coulson, Kari Olsen and Julia Jack, along with Queen of Angels’ student Jasmine Jackson (not pictured) — celebrate their championship at the 2015 Battle of the Books competition, held on March 20 at the Port Angeles Library.

During the year, more than 200 fourth-grade students from throughout the county read five books and met monthly with North Olympic Library System staff for a book discussion designed especially for them.

Ten schools competed in the final battle including Greywolf, Hellen Haller, Forks Intermediate School, Jefferson, Franklin, Hamilton, Roosevelt, Crescent, Queen of Angels and Dry Creek.
