On Saturday, Aug. 8, veteran Master Gardener Jeanette Stehr-Green will talk about growing blueberries on the North Olympic Peninsula at the Woodcock Demonstration Garden in Sequim.
The presentation, which takes place from 10-11 a.m., is part of the Class Act educational series sponsored by WSU Clallam County Master Gardeners every other Saturday during the growing season.
Stehr-Green will talk about the general types of blueberries and recommended varieties for the Pacific Northwest. She will describe the ideal planting site for blueberries, including soil acidity, and how to plant them.
She will outline general care for blueberries and demonstrate a simple step-by-step approach to pruning blueberries for productivity.
The Woodcock Demonstration Garden is at 2711 Woodcock Road in Sequim. The garden demonstrates a broad range of ornamental and edible plants, water-wise gardening, fire-safe landscaping, composting and garden design.
