Voices for Veterans hosts Stand Down 2010 from 9 a.m.-
3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 7, at the Clallam County Fairgrounds, 1608 W. 16th St., Port Angeles.
The event, open to all veterans, provides special assistance to veterans in need and their families.
Those attending can receive a hot breakfast or a hot lunch, employment services, benefits counseling, housing assistance, legal aid and medical and dental health screenings. They even can get a haircut.
As part of the Voices for Veterans ongoing efforts, those who attend the event also can receive as needed free clothing, bedding, hygiene kits and outdoor equipment.
The event is free and free transportation can be arranged. Clallam and Jefferson Transit system buses are providing the rides.
