The Clallam County Orcas had three teams representing the area at the Southwest Regional Basketball Tournament in Bremerton this spring.
With a team that lost a player due to a last-minute illness — creating an 11-point handicap from the start — the Orcas’ skills group played hard and received a fourth-place ribbon.
A second Orcas team that stretched itself by moving up in division play lost its first game, but came back to win the next two games and also earned a fourth-place ribbon.
The Orcas’ third team came away with a silver medal after a winning three games in a row, then losing a hard-fought fourth game by a small margin.
